At Orthopedic One, patient centered care is our primary focus. However, in order to provide this exceptional quality care, we know if starts with our associates. Therefore, Orthopedic One is committed to being an employer of choice by offering our associates a competitive benefits package with a wide variety of options to suit each individuals’ needs. Below, you will find an overview of the benefits offered by our organization, some of which are paid 100% by the company ( ).

Health Insurance Coverage Options

Orthopedic One’s medical plans provide full-time employees (working 30 hours or more per week) an opportunity to enroll in our High Deductible Health Plan or PPO plan options to cover themselves and eligible family members.

Associates who have other group employer-sponsored medical coverage (through a spouse or parent), and who are full-time and waive our medical coverage can opt for an Employer Sponsored Health Reimbursement Account (Medical Waiver) . Under this plan, Orthopedic One funds the account twice a year, and employees may use the monies for out of pocket medical, pharmacy, dental, or vision expenses.

Flexible Spending Accounts

Orthopedic One offers eligible employees the opportunity to participate in a healthcare and/or dependent care Flexible Spending Account (FSA). The healthcare FSA allows you to contribute up to an amount each year designated by the IRS to pay for healthcare expenses not paid by your medical, dental, or vision plans. The dependent care FSA allows you to save through each pay the cost of your work-related (child or elder) dependent care expenses, up to a specific annual maximum.

401(k) Retirement Plan

  • Elective Contributions - Employees are eligible to start contributing to their 401(k) the first of the quarter, following 6 months of employment.
  • Safe Harbor Contributions - Orthopedic One makes a safe harbor non-elective contribution to the 401(k) account of all eligible employees every pay period beginning the first quarter after one year of employment, regardless of whether or not the employee chooses to contribute to their 401(k).
  • Profit Sharing Contributions - Orthopedic One may also make a discretionary/profit sharing contribution to the 401(k) account of all eligible employees. This is generally a lump sum contribution made the following year based on the prior year’s wages.

Life Insurance

  • Basic Life Insurance - Orthopedic One’s life insurance plans offer eligible employees and their family important financial protection. Full-time employees (working 30 hours or more per week) are automatically enrolled in this benefit plan at no cost.
  • Voluntary Life Insurance – In addition to Orthopedic One’s company paid basic life insurance plan, there are more options for employees to purchase additional coverage for themselves, their spouse, and dependent children.

Employee Assistance Program

Orthopedic One provides access to an employee assistance program, or EAP, for all employees and individuals residing in their home. This program provides confidential support for job-related or personal matters 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The program offers some behavioral health appointments at no cost as well as free legal consultation, discounted legal services, and a comprehensive on-line resource for employees and their families on a wide variety of topics.

Wellness Program

Orthopedic One provides all full-time employees with the option to participate in our annual Wellness program, which consists of access to education on wellness-related topics and challenges. Employees who complete the program may receive monetary incentives, contributions to their health savings account, or a reduction in their healthcare premiums from the organization for their participation.

  • Paid Time Off (PTO) – Orthopedic One provides all full-time employees with paid time off for vacations, personal time, absences due to illness or injury, or other scheduled or unscheduled time away from work. Benefit amounts are dependent upon the employee’s classification and years of service with the company.
  • Holiday Pay – Orthopedic One provides holiday pay (in addition to PTO benefits) to full-time employees for at least 7 holidays each calendar year.
  • Paid Parental Leave – Orthopedic One provides eligible employees with a specified amount of paid leave for care and bonding with a newborn, newly adopted, or newly placed child.

Continuing Education

Orthopedic One provides reimbursement for pre-approved expenses necessary for employees to maintain certifications, licensure and professional membership required for their positions with the organization.

Uniforms

Orthopedic One provides uniforms for employees designated by the company as required to wear uniforms. Uniforms are based on the type of position, and may include scrubs or logo apparel. In addition to providing a set number of uniforms at time of hire, Orthopedic One orders additional uniforms annually for replacement.

Because each associate has unique priorities and interests in coverage, Orthopedic One offers a variety of voluntary insurance products to choose from:

Dental

Orthopedic One offers a dental plan for eligible employees and their dependents. Services are covered as Preventive, General, and Major, and benefits are payable at each level up to an annual maximum per member. Orthodontic coverage is also available up to age 19.

Vision

Our vision plan is offered to eligible employees and their dependents, and provides 1 vision exam every 12 months per member. Additionally, members are eligible for glasses or contacts lenses every 12 months. Our network includes many optometrists as well as retail optometry networks open evenings and weekends.

Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Benefits

Full-time employees (working 30 hours or more per week) are eligible to enroll in these voluntary benefit plans. These benefits are intended to provide employees with income replacement benefits, should the employee not be able to work due to an illness or injury.

Critical Illness Coverage

This benefit provides coverage for many critical illnesses, should the employee or a covered dependent be diagnosed. Coverage includes payment as a lump sum, based on the benefit amount elected, and diagnosis.

Accident Coverage

This coverage pays benefits based on services incurred for treatment related to an injury suffered by the employee or a covered dependent.

Identity Theft Coverage

Identity theft benefts offer comprehensive personal online security protection that works proactively to protect employees and their dependents in protecting their personal data, health data, and financial data, as well as online child safety.

Orthopedic One has more than 10 locations throughout Central Ohio, many of which are located within 1 mile of access to public transportation via the COTA busline. Links below will show you bus stops closest to the specified offices.

In addition to the benefits listed above, Orthopedic One is committed to fulfilling our responsibility of paying the full cost of the legally required benefits of worker’s compensation, unemployment insurance, and the required costs associated with Social Security and Medicare.  COBRA also provides employees and their qualified beneficiaries with the opportunity to continue their coverage on certain Orthopedic One benefit plans when a qualifying event would normally result in a loss of coverage.
